How can you help?

Food Donations

Casa always needs food. If you wish to make a donation of food, please bring it to Casa de Peregrinos on a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday between 8:30 and 4:30. Or, if you'd like to sponsor a food drive, just give us a call for tips or to arrange for help with delivery: 575-523-5542.

Foods We Particularly Need
With the nutritional needs of our clients in mind, we try to provide such foods as those listed below. But, as anyone shopping for groceries these days knows, the cost of feeding families continues to rise. At Casa, we know this all too well, as we must purchase much of the the food we distribute. Even at the lower prices we can sometimes negotiate through collaborative buying and bulk purchases, our grocery bills are impressive. So, we greatly appreciate donations of usable (and nutritious) food—particularly the following:

  • Canned tuna/chicken/ham
  • Canned fruits/veggies/soups
  • Peanut butter
  • Dry cereal (non-sugary)
  • Pasta
  • Pinto beans
  • Rice
  • Dry milk
  • Baby food
  • Milk, eggs, cheese
  • Fresh produce
  • Healthy kid snacks
  • No-cook meals suitable for homeless clients

As noted above, we can accept food donations Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between the hours of 8:30 and 4:30 (or later by special arrangement). Just bring them to Casa de Peregrinos: 999 W. Amador, Suite F. If you need help with delivery, please give us a call at 575-523-5542.

                          Thank you for your help!

Other Donations

Often, our clients ask for certain non-food items, such as soap and shampoo, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and razors and deodorant. Disposable diapers, too, are a fast-moving item. If you have such items to donate, we welcome those as well.

For our operations in the storage and set-up areas, we always need paper towels, toilet tissue, disposable gloves, and plastic and paper bags of all sizes.

For more information or to discuss donations of food, furniture, and/other large items, please contact us.

Casa de Peregrinos is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and contributions may be tax-deductible. For more information, please consult your tax adviser.
