With donated and rescued food, and a loyal contingent of volunteers, Casa de Peregrinos uses each dollar efficiently and effectively, providing more than 5 pounds of food for every dollar it receives, but certain costs are unavoidable. Staffing, vehicle costs to pick up donated food, utilities and other costs add up quickly.
We focus on raising funds both for day-to-day operations and for CdP's long-term survival.
Funds for Today
You can donate funds for our immediate use right here at this website. Just click on a "donate" button in the right column or at the bottom of the page. Large or small, all donations will help the hungry.
On a tight budget? Consider small recurring monthly donations. This arrangement, very easy to set up (and cancel) at both Network for Good and Just Give, is a great way to support Casa de Peregrinos.
For example, even a modest amount repeated monthly adds up very quickly: $5 a month becomes $60 in a year; $10 monthly becomes $120 quite painlessly. So, please don’t put off giving simply because you may think your gift isn’t “big enough.” Just give what you can afford right now, whatever the amount. Large or small, it WILL make a difference. Thank you!
Prefer to give us cash or a check? Please send/bring your donation to Casa de Peregrinos at 999 W. Amador (Suite F), Las Cruces, NM 88005. If you choose to bring it in person, please do so during our business hours on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday (see left column). And again, many thanks.
Although raising short-term funds for each year’s expenses is critical, we must also work to secure CdP’s longer-term survival.
For, despite our gains against hunger, it seems unlikely that the need for our services will ever disappear completely.
One way you can help us keep meeting that need is to contribute to CdP’s endowment, which at present contains two funds: one lodged with the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico and the other with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Las Cruces.
To contribute to either of these funds and help CdP remain a vital force against hunger in our region, you may contact the Community Foundation (http://www.cfsnm.org) or the Diocese (http://dioceseoflascruces.org) directly. At either place, someone will be glad to assist you with your donation. Or, if you prefer, send your contribution to Casa de Peregrinos, directing that it be applied to our endowment.
Thank you for lending us a hand!
